Material:
In general, all steel is IASA 1010 commercial quality, cold-rolled, carbon steel and meets ASTM Specification A-366. Gauges of material are US Manufacturer’s standard.
Finish:
All parts shall be cleaned and phosphatized in a seven step process. The parts will then be given a coat of baking enamel which is baked on at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. See specification on preparation and painting for a detailed explanation of preparation and performance.
Unit Dimensions:
Overall width is 37-1/2” and overall depth is 12-1/16”. Overall height is 84” or 97” for full height units unless a special height is required. Clear opening width is 35-1/16”. Shelf depth is 11-7/8”.
Construction:
Uprights are made of 18 gauge. Uprights are 1-7/32” thick overall with a 23/32” front face the full height of the upright and a 9/16” return clanged notched out 1-1/4” from the end to accommodate a top. The face returns back 5/8” with a ½” offset parallel to face. The rear of the upright is made into a channel formation with a 1-7/32” face and return of 7/16”, notched out 1-1/4” to accommodate a top.
Uprights have two rows of 5/32” slots on 1-1/2” centers. The front row extends from within 5/8” of the front face back 3-3/4” to a ½” offset that is 6-1/8” long. The back row extends from the offset 1-1/2” to rear of upright.
Shelves are made of 20 gauge steel formed at front with two 90 degree bends, a 7/8” face and 13/32” return. The face is punched with 5/16” diameter holes for attaching label holders. There is one 90 degree bend at the back with a 1-1/4” flange turned down. The shelf can have optional slots added for use with sub-dividers and full height dividers.
The ends are prepared to slide into the slots of the uprights and are provided with safety tabs to prevent accidental withdrawal of shelf from upright.
Over all shelf depth is 11-7/8”. Overall width is 35-7/8”.
Base is made of 18 gauge steel. It is channel shaped with a 2-7/8” face and 7/8” flange on top, bottom and sides. The sides are punched for attaching to uprights.
Back is made of 24 gauge steel with holes punched on all four sides for bolting back to the rear of uprights, top shelf, and bottom shelf. Overall width is 37-5/16” and overall heights are 83-15/16” and 96-15/16”.
Shelf box is made of 24 gauge steel. It is 5-11/16” wide by 11-3/4” deep. The height of the face is 2-1/4”, the sides are 3-5/16” high and the back surface is 4” high. Label holders are formed in the front and rear panels.
Gussets which are used as an alternative to a solid back sheet on open back units are 18 gauge steel with 12-1/2” x 12-5/8” sides having holes for bolting to rear of uprights, top shelf, and bottom shelf.
Connector bolts are used to tie two or more units together lengthwise along a range.
Label holders are made of 26 gauge steel. The face of it is 7/8”. The top and bottom are folded over to provide a groove for 7/8” labels. Clips are furnished for attaching to the shelf.
Sliding dividers are made of 24 gauge steel. The front face is 3” wide with a label formed in the face. The heights available are 3”, 4-1/2” and 6”. No hardware is required.
Sub-dividers are made of 22 gauge steel. The are available in 3”, 4-1/2” and 6” heights. The bottom has 7/8” flanges formed each way and tabs that wedge into the slots in the slotted shelf.
Full height divider is made of 22 gauge steel. It is available in 6” height only. Tabs at the top and bottom go into the slots in the slotted shelf. A hook and mash at the front and rear of the divider eliminates sharp edges.
