Cabinet Specifications
Material:
In general, all steel is AISI 1010 commercial quality, cold-rolled, carbon steel and meets ASTM Specification A-366. Gauges of material are US Manufacturer’s standard.
Finish:
All parts shall be cleaned and phosphatized in a seven step process. The parts will then be given a coat of baking enamel which is baked on at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. See specification on preparation and painting for a detailed explanation of preparation and performance.
Construction:
Cabinet – bolted construction with door frame welded into an integral unit.
Door side frames – 16 gauge steel formed into a channel section with rear edge offset and punched for bolting of shelves.
Bottom frame – 16 gauge steel formed into a channel section and spot welded to side frames.
Top frame – 16 gauge steel formed into a channel section with lower edge offset to form door strike and spot welded to side members.
Sides – 24 guage steel flanged on all four edges and bolted to door frame, top, bottom and back.
Back – 24 gauge steel flanged at bottom and bolted to sides, top and bottom. Rear adjusting strips 18 gauge steel formed into a flanged V section and bolted to back near rear side edges. V section slotted to receive rear edge of shelf.
Top – 24 gauge steel flanged at rear edge and bolted to door frame, sides and back.
Bottom – 20 gauge steel flanged on sides and back, and front edge formed into a channel section to act as a door strike. Bottom bolts to side and back.
Shelf – 20 gauge steel flanged on ends, with front and rear edges formed into a channel section for strength and finish. Shelf adjustment on 2” centers provided by bolting to side frames at front and by engaging slots in adjusting strips at rear.
Doors – 20 gauge steel with 24 gauge steel reinforcement formed into a pan section and spot welded to inside of door.
Left hand door – flanged at top and bottom, and left hand edge formed into a channel section. Right hand edge formed into a Z section with edge folded with acts as strike for right hand door.
Right hand door – flanged at top and bottom. Side edges formed into a channel section.
Hinges – five knuckle, full loop, tight pin type spot welded to side frames and bolted to door.
Handle – lever type, zinc die cast, chrome plated.
Lock – grooved key, built-in handle type, controlling a three point locking mechanism operated by lever type handle. Top and bottom of door have non-metallic shelf lubricating lockbar guides. Tow keys per lock, keyed differently and masterkeyed.
Capacities:
The maximum capacity of a storage cabinet is 1200 pounds. The 36” wide x 18” deep shelf has a capacity of 275 pounds uniformly distributed on the shelf. The 36” wide x 25-1/4” deep shelf has a capacity of 225 pounds, uniformly distributed on the shelf.
